I’ve spent years in the shadows. I have a team of more than 25 digital professionals, but I rarely tweet, blog or “like” anything at all (a BIG [mis]adventure). I’m also a husband, father of four, and, like everyone else, busy, busy, busy. Now, however, is a great time to share my experiences in digital marketing.
I’ve been doing digital marketing for about 20 years. I started in 1994 when I took an HTML class at #byu. I fell in love.
When I turned 20-something, my mother-in-law (Marge, in case you’re wondering) gave me the BEST gift ever. With her gift, I was cruising the information highway, blasting across bulletin boards with a lightening fast 56k modem. I took pride in being part of the “global village”.
Today, I work at IBM, leading a GREAT team of digital professionals. There’s a lot of great content out there about digital marketing. I’m one of many voices. But, I thought it might be unique to talk about how digital marketing works (or doesn’t always work) in a very large enterprise.
I’ve done some things right in my career, and have made plenty of mistakes along the way. My focus here will be on digital marketing topics relevant to the enterprise – transformation, strategy, execution, teaming, leadership and other great topics. So, stay tuned and I’ll walk you through my [mis] adventures in digital marketing.
